I couldn’t let Christmas pass without a final post before this blog goes into ‘pause’ mode (see Time to hit pause on this blog).
Also, being a numbers nerd, I needed to publish post number 800 to finish on a round number!
We all know 2020 has been a horrid year and that many of you won’t be able to share Christmas with your loved ones.
I do hope the pandemic hasn’t been too awful for you, and that you’ve found ways to cope.
Singing with others in harmony is what I miss the most. I’ve not sung with anybody else since March 2020. All my work has been cancelled, and I don’t see my singing events starting up again any time soon.
But on the bright side, there have been plenty of opportunities to sing and socialise online for those who’ve wanted to. Some choirs have reconvened outdoors when possible.
The rest of us have perhaps sung at home or to the birds, and many of us have rediscovered the joys of nature and of slowing down.
Let’s all hope that 2021 brings health and some kind of ‘normality’ back to us all.
blog archives
Although I won’t be publishing any new content on this blog for the foreseeable future, there are plenty of useful posts in the archives.
It’s easiest to access the archives on a desktop or tablet rather than your phone. You can see them on a phone, but you’ll need to scroll to the bottom of any page and click on “View web version”.
There is a search box where you can search for specific subjects. Or you can see a chronological list of all posts from December 2006 with their titles by going to the Archive page: https://blog.chrisrowbury.com/p/archives.html
I’ll still be publishing my Monthly Music Roundup on the 1st of each month. You can sign up here: https://tinyletter.com/chrisrowbury and also read past issues.
I wish you and your loved ones a very merry Christmas, an extremely happy New Year and healthy 2021!
Chris Rowbury
